The colors of South Africa in the "Garden Route" Collection
by Chivasso by JAB Anstoetz
The Fall Winter 2019/20 Collection by Chivasso Jab Anstoetz is called "Garden Route" and is a tribute to the luxuriant flora, fauna and colors of the famous South African region of unique charm: a series of very expressive decoration and upholstery fabrics , printed on bases with warm or dusty mint green tones.
For the first time, a series of wool hand-woven rugs in India are also added.
Untouched nature and unique biodiversity are those printed on the “Fantastic Madagascar” linen mix, which is characterized by the luxuriant flora and fauna of a region with a wild charm.
Inspired by the studies of the German zoologist and philosopher Ernst Haeckel, the printed "Fantastic Birds" is illustrated with exotic images of Passiflora flowers and highly detailed and expressive hummingbirds.
With the new Garden Route collection, Chivasso also offers a carpet collection for the first time.
In line with the love for natural materials, COTTAGE rugs in 100% pure wool recall the knitting pattern.
The wool fibers are not dyed: once shaved by the sheep, they are first selected on the basis of color, grouped by shades of color and finally woven by hand on looms in India.
The Cottage carpet exists in standard and custom-made versions, is doubled at the back with cotton fiber.
The carpets are made according to the STEP partner's program. STEP is synonymous with good working and living conditions, fair wages, prohibition of child labor and ecological production of handmade carpets.
The label distinguishes traders who are committed to fair trade with their assortment.
STEP was founded in Switzerland in 1995. As a non-profit association, the brand does not pursue commercial objectives, but works for the welfare of weavers and workers and for a sustainable textile industry.
